# How to import your wallet as the Sentry Wallet in the desktop app

Rather than using one of the automatically generated Sentry Wallets, you may choose to import your private key so that one of your own wallets serves as the Sentry Wallet. Below are steps to import your own wallet as the Sentry Wallet in the Xai Sentry Node desktop app:

1. Go to Sentry Wallet in the desktop app.

2. Click the three-dot menu button.

3. Click "Import Sentry Wallet".

4. Paste in the private key of your desired wallet into the text field.

5. Click "Confirm Import".

6. Confirm that your wallet's public address matches what is display on the Sentry Wallet page. If it does not, you should try importing your private carefully key once more.
