# Why did my Accrued esXAI balance decrease?

There are two ways your Accrued esXAI balance may decrease and neither one is an issue:

1. If you [passed KYC](/xai-network/en/about-xai/sentry-key-purchase-and-setup/how-to-videos/desktop-client/claim-node-rewards-after-passing-kyc.md), you will begin claiming node rewards. When this happens, your **esXAI balance** will increase and your **Accrued esXAI (unclaimed)** balance will decrease by the corresponding amount. 
2. Your balance may also appear to decrease if you spam the refresh button on the Keys page. Each time you press this button it will take about 10 seconds per Key to fetch the data onchain and to populate the Keys dashboard with the Accrued esXAI. This number will count back up from 0, so wait at least 5 minutes until the loading status is replace with "Last Update: \[time/date stamp]".
